    Webinar

    Medical

    About this event

In many medical devices, there are fluid connections that facilitate the transfer of critical media like medications, fluids, and an array of biological materials between containers, tubes, and waste bins. There are several connection options available that help reduce the risk of misconnections in these applications — from hard connections to quick-disconnect solutions to unique connections designed for a specific application.

During this 30-minute webinar, attendees will learn the essentials of streamlined connections as well as the differences between new product development and product-improvement projects. The session will include a basic overview of FDA 510K requirements and the considerations when looking to implement quick disconnects into applications.

    About this event

As cell and gene therapy companies work to deliver life-changing results, production scale and sterility should remain a key priority.

Without sterile connectors, users typically look to join tubing by either making connections under a laminar flow hood or via tube welding. Both are viable options, however, they have inherent disadvantages such as low efficiency, unreliable consistency, and high costs.

To address these disadvantages, converting to sterile connectors specifically single-use connectors - can be considered. These connectors create fast, easy, and sterile connections for small fluid connections. In addition, sterile connectors eliminate the need for specialized tools and equipment and create sterile connections even in non-sterile environments.

In this webinar, we will review the topics of process safeguarding, operator convenience, and true scalability solutions, in addition to presenting cost-benefit considerations.

    About this event

Reliability is paramount when developing cell and gene therapies. Today, the end-product costs are a major focus and will be in the future as advanced therapies mature and continue to become more widely used. The challenges and costs associated with a therapy approval can reach hundreds of thousands of dollars per dose, which makes the cell and gene therapy manufacturing process critical. Sterile connectors can help save time and money in this process. CPC will discuss connector solutions for sterility, chemical compatibility, and ultra-low temperature challenges when setting up a therapeutic process for long-term success.

Flow & Form Factor: Performance and Features to Understand When Designing Liquid Cooling

    12 PM EDT May 8, 2024.

CPC’s Applications Engineer, Chris Winslow will be highlighting how important managing flow is within a liquid cooling system. Liquid cooling should be approached holistically; Chris’s presentation identifies system subcomponents that have an impact on the whole. For example, tubing length is a factor – just because there are no valves or other mechanical impedance within a stretch of hose does not mean that it doesn’t impact velocity. Ultimately, various parts of an application using liquid cooling can influence cooling potential. By attending this session, participants can learn more about flow and features of QDs to be aware of related to Cv.

    Liquid Cooling

    About this event

It’s well known that poorly designed thermal management systems can result in suboptimal performance or system failure. What isn’t as well understood are the material properties and myriad calculations that all need to be taken into consideration when developing a high-performing liquid cooling system -- or the role that quick disconnects play in supporting reliability, uptime, ease of maintenance and system performance. It’s complicated but it doesn’t need to be confusing.

CPC’s Application Engineering Manager, Andres Abraham provides tips and insights that will help engineers understand which types of quick disconnects (and other components) are suited for liquid cooling systems. And he will describe how fluid selection decisions should impact the specification of subcomponents in connectors and other system parts in the wetted loop.

    Speaker

Andres Abraham Applications Engineering Manager - Thermal CPC (Colder Products Company)

     Attendees will learn:

    • The variety of fluids that are considered for liquid cooling and their associated pros/cons and how these choices should influence other specifications
    • The importance of flow performance vs product dimension for comparison and selection
    • How and why quick disconnect features such as valve type and termination style impact system flow and pressure
    • Which connector styles are well suited for use as part of complex manifold systems
    • When to engage manufacturer engineering teams for custom solutions or assistance with advice for swift application development
    • The operational and ease of use benefits of different styles of quick disconnect products
    • Why liquid cooling system subcomponent materials of construction matter (metals, polymers, elastomers, etc.)
    • How to reference performance data for liquid cooling system optimization
