    Equipment for Dialysis Distribution Systems

Biomedical technicians who service dialysis (hemodialysis) equipment, reverse osmosis (RO) water treatment systems and dialyzer reprocessing equipment save time and money by using the right couplings to disconnect equipment from acid, bicarbonate, RO water and disinfectant service lines. Replacement tubing, piping, pumps and tank vent filters are brought online rapidly using quick disconnects to minimize down time.

The Dialysis Machine Fronts the Treatment

A dialysis machine filters a patient's blood to remove excess water and waste products when kidneys are damaged, dysfunctional or missing. CPC quick disconnect couplings and connectors connect hemodialysis machines to the dialysis distribution systems which include acid, bicarbonate, RO water and chemical waste service lines or containers. Tubing and piping internal to the dialysis machine which require frequent connect/ disconnect cycles can also be fitted with couplings for ease of maintenance.

CPC PLC12 Series Quick Connectors Enhance Dialysis Distribution Systems

    • One-hand connection and disconnection for ease of use
    • Integral terminations for fewer leak points, shorter assemblies and faster installations
    • Chemically resistant and gamma sterilizable
    • EPDM o-rings provide greater chemical resistance
    • Optional RFID-endabled CPC IdentiQuik® technology for controlling protecting and streamlining fluid handling processes
    • Increased safety with IdentiQuik® technology to identify connected media, verify line connection accuracy or capture fluid and product data

Types of Dialysis Distribution Systems Using CPC Hemodialysis Connectors

    Acid/Bicarbonate Mixing System

These mixing systems are designed to prepare a liquid sodium bicarbonate medium for the purpose of making dialysis fluid (dialysate) that purifies the blood of a person, inside the dialyzer, whose kidneys are not working normally, by removing waste products and balancing electrolytes.

    CPC Connector Solutions

Pumps and tank vent filters are easily replaced when fitted with CPC hemodialysis connectors. CPC DrumQuik® PRO Drum Connectors provide a safe, closed connection to concentrated liquid acid or bicarbonate drums.

    Water Treatment Systems

One of the critical components to quality dialysis treatment is safe, purified dialysis water. The dialysis water treatment system is often located in a dedicated, secured, and access-controlled water room that provides source water, drains, and electric power needed to support the hemodialysis system. Reverse osmosis machines produce two types of water: product water and reject water. The product water is ultra-pure water that enters the hemodialysis machine and is used to mix the dialysate. In this process, up to 60-70% of source water is discarded.

    CPC Connector Solutions

Many RO systems make use of CPC PLC quick disconnect couplings to attach to pre-filtered water lines and downstream pumps, tanks or dialysis machines. Larger systems are quickly isolated or recycled for flushing or sanitizing purposes by using HFC35 couplings. Dispensing sanitizing chemistries to water systems are also facilitated by using polypropylene PLC12 couplings.

    On-Site Dialyzer Reuse Reprocessing

Dialyzer reuse is the practice of a patient using the same dialyzer for multiple treatments. Dialyzers are reprocessed by cleaning, testing, filling the dialyzer with a sterilant, storing and rinsing the patient’s specific dialyzer before it is reused in the next treatment.

    CPC Connector Solutions

The CPC hemodialysis coupling connects on dialyzer water flush manifolds and reuses reprocessing equipment quickly and securely connects the dialyzer filter element to reprocessing equipment or connects reprocessing equipment to chemical bag-in-box containers or service lines.

    Portable Systems Recharging and Maintenance

Hemodialysis machines have been engineered to be small enough to allow patients to travel. They use a setup cartridge and are easy to clean after use. Portable dialysis machines include a fluid bag warmer allowing patients to use premixed dialysate bags when away from home.

    CPC Connector Solutions

By modularizing equipment with quick disconnect couplings, portable RO, carbon tanks and dialysis equipment are quickly and easily swapped out for repair and preventative maintenance or off-site recharging. Automatic shutoff valves minimize spillage during changeovers.

Rely on CPC Hemodialysis Connectors to Improve Dialysis Fluid Distribution

Used in chemical and water applications worldwide, high-performance CPC quick disconnect couplings are used in dialysis clinics on a wide variety of systems—from the acid and bicarbonate lines to the water lines used on reverse osmosis water treatment systems. Save time reconnecting pipe threads and tubing onto fixtures and hose barbs by installing high-quality CPC quick disconnect couplings. CPC’s non-spill and valved connections eliminate or minimize drips and spills.

    Trusted Reliability

CPC hemodialysis connectors and couplings are purpose-built for dialysis distribution systems. They ensure closed connection and disconnection for transferring dialysis fluids while managing the impurities separated during dialysis therapy. User-friendly, easy-to-use, ergonomic designs improve usability which minimizes training and eliminates misconnections.

    Dependable Durability

Built to manage the wide variety of dialysis distribution systems used in dialysis therapies, CPC non-spill hemodialysis connectors deliver optimized flowrates with excellent flow to size ratio for superior performance. CPC hemodialysis connectors feature a non-spill, closed-system design to ensure mess-free, drip-free disconnects necessary in a clinical or home setting.

    Overall Robustness

Meeting the diverse types of dialysis distribution systems, CPC hemodialysis connectors come in an expanding variety of sizes, termination options and materials including high-performance polymers. A broad range of configurations are available to meet specific equipment requirements. All CPC hemodialysis connectors and couplings are rigorously tested ─ including materials testing, product testing and torture testing to failure ─ to meet product specifications.

    Straightforward Serviceability

When your hemodialysis and distribution systems need maintenance, CPC’s break-away latch ensures intuitive and rapid disconnections. Designed to for easy serviceability, CPC drip-free, non-spill disconnect couplings ensure safer and quicker repair.
